What You Should Know Before the Start of World Climbing Series Prague 2026

Only a few days remain until the start of the biggest climbing event of this season. From 3 to 7 June, World Climbing Series Prague 2026 will bring together world-class sport climbing, a unique atmosphere and an extensive side programme in the brand-new setting of Štvanice Island. Here is everything visitors should know before arriving at the event.

TRANSPORT AND ARRIVAL

We strongly recommend using public transport when travelling to the event. Parking on Štvanice Island will not be available to the public and vehicle access to the venue will be permitted only with special authorisation. Visitors are therefore kindly asked not to attempt to drive directly onto the Štvanice Island.

The venue is within walking distance of Florenc metro station (lines B and C) and Vltavská metro station (line C). Nearby tram stops include Štvanice (lines 12 and 17), Karlínské náměstí (lines 3, 8, 12, 24 and 34) and Holešovická tržnice (lines 1, 25 and 34).

Access to the venue is possible via Hlávkův Bridge or the Štvanice footbridge. Entrances will be open from both sides of the island.

For visitors arriving by bicycle or scooter, an unattended parking area will be available near the entrance by the Karlín footbridges.

If using taxi services, we recommend entering the address Ostrov Štvanice 1125, located near the Štvanice tram stop and better suited for short passenger pick-up and drop-off.

ENTRANCE CHECKS

To ensure a smooth security check, please have your electronic or printed ticket ready before entering the venue.

Alcoholic beverages, glass bottles, drinks larger than 1.5 litres, oversized luggage, weapons and other dangerous items are prohibited inside the venue. The complete list can be found in the VISIT ORDER.

Storage facilities will also be available at both entrances, where prohibited items may be deposited for a small fee.

WRISTBANDS AND MOVEMENT AROUND THE VENUE

Upon first entry, every visitor will receive a wristband allowing repeated exit and re-entry throughout the day. Holders of multi-day tickets will receive a new wristband each day.

Movement between the lead climbing centre court and the boulder area will be routed via stairways and beneath the Negrelli Viaduct. During the event, the stairways will operate as one-way routes, so visitors are kindly asked to be especially careful and follow the instructions of event staff.

Standard toilets will be available at the tennis centre court area, while portable toilets will be located in the park section.

GRANDSTANDS SEATING

Tickets for the boulder grandstand do not include assigned seating. If you leave the grandstand area, take all personal belongings with you.

Lead climbing tickets, on the other hand, include assigned seats that must be respected. If there is any issue with your seat, please contact the event staff.

WHAT TO BRING

We recommend checking the weather forecast in advance and preparing accordingly. Hopefully, you will need sunscreen and a cap rather than a raincoat. Please note that umbrellas are not permitted in spectator zones or grandstands.

Due to the new venue layout, we also recommend bringing blankets or seat pads. Part of the venue will feature a chill-out area on the grass beneath the trees.

SMOKING AREAS

At least two designated smoking areas will be available within the venue. Smoking outside these areas will not be permitted.

FAN ZONE AND REFRESHMENTS

This year’s fan zone will be the biggest in the history of the Prague World Cup. Visitors can look forward to a 20-metre boulder wall, slacklines, a parkour zone, rope activities, a mini boulder area for children and even the opportunity to try paddleboarding on the Vltava River.

A wide selection of food and drinks will also be available throughout the venue. There will be no reason to leave the area between competition rounds — the entertainment and activities will continue all day long.
