Erin McNeice confirmed her status as one of the favorites of the women’s boulder competition on Štvanice by overtaking France’s Zélia Avezou at the very end of the semifinal round. Both climbers advanced to the evening final, while two-time Prague winner Oriane Bertone will surprisingly miss out this time.
Another dramatic competition unfolded under sunny skies on Štvanice. Eleven climbers topped at least three boulders in the semifinal, but only two managed to solve all four. Erin McNeice and Zélia Avezou once again confirmed their excellent form this season.
The French climber was the first to achieve the feat, losing only 0.7 points on attempts and holding the lead for most of the semifinal. She was overtaken only in the closing moments by qualification winner Erin McNeice.
Several other favorites also advanced, but France’s Oriane Bertone will not repeat her Prague victories from 2023 and 2025. Despite topping three out of four boulders, she failed to make it through the extremely competitive semifinal round and had to settle for 11th place.

Five days of world-class climbing, a new venue, an expanded programme and a fantastic atmosphere. World Climbing Series Prague 2026 wrote a new chapter in the history of Czech sport climbing on Štvanice Island. For the first time, fans in Prague were able to watch not only boulder competitions but also lead climbing, marking Adam Ondra’s return to competing in front of a home crowd. A total of 15,869 spectators attended the event. The focus of Czech climbing now gradually shifts towards the 2027 IFSC Climbing and Para Climbing World Championships in Brno, with the voucher pre-sale starting today.

Putra Tri Ramadani delivered a dominant performance to win the men’s lead final and became the first Indonesian climber ever to win a World Cup event in a discipline other than speed climbing. Home favorite Adam Ondra delighted the crowd on Štvanice with a fifth-place finish. In the women’s competition, Annie Sanders followed up her boulder victory with another win to complete the Prague double.

Sorato Anraku and Annie Sanders are both on course for another triumph on Štvanice after already winning the boulder competitions. The two climbers delivered the best performances in the lead semifinals and will enter at the end of the evening finals. Japanese climber Anraku was matched only by compatriot Neo Suzuki, while Korean climber Chaehyun Seo was the only athlete to equal Sanders’ performance. Czech fans were delighted by Adam Ondra, who was the only one of the three home climbers to advance to the final.

Annie Sanders confirmed her excellent early-season form on Štvanice. After winning the lead event in Wujiang, China, the American climber also claimed victory in Prague’s boulder competition, narrowly defeating current World Climbing Series leader Erin McNeice.

Sorato Anraku has been one of the biggest boulder stars in recent years, but a Prague victory had long eluded him. He finally achieved it on his fourth attempt, following up his wins in qualification and semifinal rounds by narrowly defeating Korea’s Dohyun Lee by just two tenths of a point.

Japanese favorite Sorato Anraku failed to solve the second boulder and did not even secure a zone there, but still managed to win the demanding men’s boulder semifinal. By topping the remaining problems, he secured first place overall. Former Prague winners Mejdi Schalck and Dohyun Lee also advanced to the final. Czech representative Lukáš Mokroluský finished 13th and narrowly missed out on the eight-man final.

In the women’s competition, Annie Sanders of the United States and Chaehyun Seo of Korea confirmed their status by topping both routes. Three Czech climbers, including Adam Ondra, also advanced to Sunday’s semifinal.

The stacked women’s boulder start list promised a dramatic competition — and the climbers delivered exactly that to the fans on Štvanice. Seventeen athletes solved all five problems in surprisingly pleasant conditions, but only one managed to top every boulder on her first attempt: Camilla Moroni.

Five weeks before the start of the World Climbing Series, a press conference provided an update on this year’s event. For the first time, Prague will feature both bouldering and lead climbing, and local fans can look forward to seeing Adam Ondra in action after an exceptionally strong winter.

With less than five months remaining until the event begins, multi-day passes for this year’s edition are currently on sale.
