Anraku Wins Men’s Boulder Semifinal as Other Favorites Advance

After a rainy morning, the weather over Štvanice cleared just in time for the start of the men’s semifinal, which delivered another dramatic competition. The route setters showed little mercy, with many climbers failing to secure even a zone on some of the four boulders.

One of them was Sorato Anraku on the second problem. However, the Japanese phenomenon quickly recovered from the setback and three tops were ultimately enough for him to win the semifinal.

Korean climber Dohyun Lee, who won in Prague in both 2023 and 2024, had to fight hard for his place in the final. He secured qualification only at the very end after flashing the fourth boulder to move into seventh place. In doing so, he pushed disappointed American climber Colin Duffy out of the final eight.

French climbers Mejdi Schalck and Max Bertone will also compete in the evening final.

Lukáš Mokroluský enjoyed tremendous support from the home crowd and impressed particularly on the second boulder, which he topped in the final seconds of his attempt. However, the second half of the semifinal proved too difficult, and his score of 33.7 points left him in 13th place, outside the final qualification spots.

The men’s boulder final is scheduled to start at 19:30.
