Anraku and Sanders Confirm Their Form in the Lead Semis and Eye Prague Double
Sorato Anraku and Annie Sanders are both on course for another triumph on Štvanice after already winning the boulder competitions. The two climbers delivered the best performances in the lead semifinals and will enter at the end of the evening finals. Japanese climber Anraku was matched only by compatriot Neo Suzuki, while Korean climber Chaehyun Seo was the only athlete to equal Sanders’ performance. Czech fans were delighted by Adam Ondra, who was the only one of the three home climbers to advance to the final.
Thousands of spectators enjoyed the first part of the final day of World Climbing Series Prague on the sunlit centre court of Štvanice. Home fans were thrilled by Adam Ondra’s performance as he handled the demanding semifinal route brilliantly and moved into the provisional lead with a score of 36. Although twelve climbers still remained to climb after him, only four managed to surpass his mark, meaning Ondra will compete in a lead final in the Czech Republic for the first time in seventeen years.
Sorato Anraku is now chasing his second victory of the weekend. The Japanese star matched compatriot Neo Suzuki with a score of 38+ on an extremely difficult route, which was enough for shared first place in the semifinal standings. Austrian climbing legend Jakob Schubert also secured his place in the evening final.

The women’s semifinal saw even higher scores, with the top performances coming right at the very end. Annie Sanders entered the wall as the penultimate climber after celebrating her boulder victory in another part of Štvanice the previous evening. The American climber comfortably surpassed then-leader Totkova of Bulgaria and moved into first place with a score of 46+. Her result was later matched by Korea’s Chaehyun Seo, with the two climbers sharing the top spot in the semifinal.
Unfortunately for the home crowd, their performances pushed Tereza Širůčková out of the qualification spots. Nevertheless, ninth place marked her best-ever World Climbing Series result. Fellow Czech climber Michaela Smetanová finished 15th.

WCS 2026 Is Over. Voucher Pre-Sale for the World Championships in Brno Begins.
Five days of world-class climbing, a new venue, an expanded programme and a fantastic atmosphere. World Climbing Series Prague 2026 wrote a new chapter in the history of Czech sport climbing on Štvanice Island. For the first time, fans in Prague were able to watch not only boulder competitions but also lead climbing, marking Adam Ondra’s return to competing in front of a home crowd. A total of 15,869 spectators attended the event. The focus of Czech climbing now gradually shifts towards the 2027 IFSC Climbing and Para Climbing World Championships in Brno, with the voucher pre-sale starting today.

Tri Ramadani Makes Indonesian History, Sanders Completes Prague Double
Putra Tri Ramadani delivered a dominant performance to win the men’s lead final and became the first Indonesian climber ever to win a World Cup event in a discipline other than speed climbing. Home favorite Adam Ondra delighted the crowd on Štvanice with a fifth-place finish. In the women’s competition, Annie Sanders followed up her boulder victory with another win to complete the Prague double.

Annie Sanders confirmed her excellent early-season form on Štvanice. After winning the lead event in Wujiang, China, the American climber also claimed victory in Prague’s boulder competition, narrowly defeating current World Climbing Series leader Erin McNeice.

Erin McNeice confirmed her status as one of the favorites of the women’s boulder competition on Štvanice by overtaking France’s Zélia Avezou at the very end of the semifinal round. Both climbers advanced to the evening final, while two-time Prague winner Oriane Bertone will surprisingly miss out this time.

Sorato Anraku has been one of the biggest boulder stars in recent years, but a Prague victory had long eluded him. He finally achieved it on his fourth attempt, following up his wins in qualification and semifinal rounds by narrowly defeating Korea’s Dohyun Lee by just two tenths of a point.

Anraku Wins Men’s Boulder Semifinal as Other Favorites Advance
Japanese favorite Sorato Anraku failed to solve the second boulder and did not even secure a zone there, but still managed to win the demanding men’s boulder semifinal. By topping the remaining problems, he secured first place overall. Former Prague winners Mejdi Schalck and Dohyun Lee also advanced to the final. Czech representative Lukáš Mokroluský finished 13th and narrowly missed out on the eight-man final.
